Atlanta Arcades Website Launches

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

mock_atlantaarcades_smallI am pleased to announce the official launch of the newly-redesigned Atlanta Arcades website. Atlanta Arcades is a local business here in Atlanta that sells arcade games, pinball machines, jukeboxes, slot machines, and services/repairs almost all of those items as well. The rest of my website design team and myself have been diligently working on this project over the past couple of months. Now the hard work is over and, I think the site is a success!

The connection was made through Craigslist as an offer to barter website design services in trade for pinball machines or arcade games. (more…)

New Header Design on NCV.info and CoinOpSpace.com

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

As those of you who follow my site have probably noticed, I designed a new header. The header is using artwork from my original “Holy Grail” of arcade games – Galaga. I altered the colors to reflect the rest of the site’s theme and added some swooping ships along with the use of a cool photoshop brush to give the “ray” effect.

Once I made the graphic for nocashvalue.info, I slightly modified it to use as the header of my personal profile on coinopspace.com . Coin Op Space is a up-and-coming social network for arcade game enthusiasts that blows current forums and newsgroups out of the water. Advantages to coinopspace.com include personal profiles that let you edit appearance, add videos, photos, and blogs. You can subscribe to posts or groups using RSS feeds and can even integrate your own content from a blog onto your profile. Like myspace, you can add music, gather friends, and send messages.

In addition to the new graphic, I was able to edit the CSS code to change text colors, hide unwanted text, and adjust background images and mouseover effects. While I was there, I added a new group for collectors and enthusiasts of Playchoice 10. Won’t you check out the discussion that’s going on at CoinOpSpace? See you there!

Pumpin’ Ain’t Easy

Since there seems to be a shortage of classic arcade t-shirts despite the large demand from my generation, I decided to take matters into my own hands. Although I am a traditionally trained artist and design websites for a living, I just sketched out my concept and took them to my graphic designer on staff at my company and had him work up the concept inĀ  illustrator. The joke being a twist on the hip-hop phrase “Pimpin’ Ain’t Easy.”
