This is a project I have been working on for essentially two years now. It was one of those, “I’ll get to it when I can” type of projects. It seemed that there was always something more pressing to attend to in line ahead of the game. As you can see, when I got the game, it had been converted to Twin Cobra. The boardset worked, so I was able to get a little coin for that by selling it on KLOV. Unfortunately, the cabinet was going to need some major work to get restored. (more…)
I am pleased to announce the official launch of the newly-redesigned Atlanta Arcades website. Atlanta Arcades is a local business here in Atlanta that sells arcade games, pinball machines, jukeboxes, slot machines, and services/repairs almost all of those items as well. The rest of my website design team and myself have been diligently working on this project over the past couple of months. Now the hard work is over and, I think the site is a success!
The connection was made through Craigslist as an offer to barter website design services in trade for pinball machines or arcade games. (more…)
Whew. Being a parent of two kids can wear you out. With the birth of my second child in April, my freetime went out the window. I thought I would recover after a few months, but that idea is shot. Not to mention, I won’t be able to work at home and get distracted as easily. Therefore, I’ll be selling most of my project cabinets.
You can check out my posting and prices on craigslist.
This is actually old news, but I was so busy getting prepped for the party that I forgot to mention on the blog that I am now the proud owner of another Nintendo classic – Popeye!
NoCashValue.info has teamed up with GameStencils.com to provide you, the fevered arcade hobbyist, with brand new Gunsmoke artwork for your very own restoration! Brian over at gamestencils has been great to deal with and his products are really top-notch. I know this probably isn’t a product in high-demand, but I love the fact that Game Stencils is willing to step out on a limb and carry some of the more “off-the-wall” and obscure items out there. Here’s an update I just sent to the folks on the email list: (if you’re not on the ATL collector email list, just send me an email with your email address and I’ll add you)
The party is still planned for July 25 and will start @ 5:30 PM. I will be providing hamburgers, hotdogs, and some beverages. I know one guest plans on bringing a dessert of some type. If you want to bring something else, great, but not necessary. I will have some alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks on hand, but if you have a preference, please BYOB. I have a full bed in my basement along with an air mattress in the same room in case anyone has too much to drink. If there are too many folks that need a place to crash, I can open up my office that is a few blocks away.
I just added a Wizard of Wor cabaret to the game list and I hope to add (more…)
I am now the proud owner of a Wizard of Wor cabaret from 1981 in great shape. The game is in great cosmetic shape except for the expected wear around the controls, and it is working 100%. (more…)
Here’s a really cool video using stop motion animation and legos to create some classic ‘cades. I can’t even begin to imagine how long this took to shoot. I did some stop-motion in high school and it was loooong. Kudos to the creator for being spot on. See if you know them all.
In my latest warehouse lot, I was fortunate enough to come across some old Playmeter Magazines. Playmeter was a magazine about the arcade industry geared toward operators and distributors in the industy. Some of the articles in there are really mundane, and some are very interesting. While following article is pretty dry, I think it is neat to learn some history about a parts provider that most in the collecting hobby are familiar in name only, but not in the actual company or history. Below and after the jump, you will find 4 scans of the pages of the magazine. Click on each smaller version to view the larger, readable version. Cool to note: the author of this article is none other than famed repair tech Randy Fromm.
NoCashValue.info is a simple blog dedicated to the preservation of classic arcade games and pinball machines. Located outside Atlanta, GA, I am a modest person who likes to collect, restore, and repair arcade games and pinball machines. Welcome to my site!
