Arcade Showdown (Party Update #1)

Here’s an update I just sent to the folks on the email list: (if you’re not on the ATL collector email list, just send me an email with your email address and I’ll add you)

The party is still planned for July 25 and will start @ 5:30 PM. I will be providing hamburgers, hotdogs, and some beverages. I know one guest plans on bringing a dessert of some type. If you want to bring something else, great, but not necessary. I will have some alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks on hand, but if you have a preference, please BYOB. I have a full bed in my basement along with an air mattress in the same room in case anyone has too much to drink. If there are too many folks that need a place to crash, I can open up my office that is a few blocks away.

I just added a Wizard of Wor cabaret to the game list and I hope to add Popeye to Nintendo Row by game day. For those of you who haven’t seen my flyer, I will have the following games available for play:

Donkey Kong 48-1
Donkey Kong Jr.
Galaga
Ms. Pac Man Cocktail
Playchoice 10 (w/ Balloon Fight – yes!)
Frogger
Tempest Mini (crossing fingers this will be ready)
Gunsmoke
Piranha
Strange Science Pinball

Depending on how much work I can get done on the many, many projects I have, it is possible that I will also have Ghost n’ Goblins, Nintendo Vs. – Sky Kid, Rolling Thunder, and Popeye. I originally asked if anyone wanted to bring a game, but we may not need it now if I get all my projects going. If you have a fun mini or cocktail, that may be cool to bring though.

I will have several parts on hand for sale or trade including some cool marquees, artwork, boards, etc. If you’ve got some extra crap, box it up and let’s wheel and deal. Who knows, you may even score some free stuff. If you have some stuff you want to toss up for potential sales or trades, feel free to send an email to the group at atlantacollectors@nocashvalue.info so folks can see what you plan on bringing and share their want lists.

It looks like we will still have just over 22 folks in attendance, some coming in from Tennessee and South Carolina, so this is a great time to meet your fellow collectors face to face, network, play games, and get your eat on.

Thanks for the invite, I am having a aunt in from Ct. that weekend, and I am having a crab boil for her. Maybe next time. I live in Hiram.
