After living at least 10 lonely years in a warehouse, followed by suffering another 4 months in my garage, Piranha is finally getting the love it deserves in my gameroom:
If you recall one of my earlier posts, you’ll remember that the game was in great shape and was working, but there were some graphics glitches and the monitor needed a capkit – BADLY! Fortunately, I had a new stockpile of monitor chassis ready to go and had a fully capped 4600 on hand. I don’t want to bore you with the details, but this simple chassis swap was a total pain in the ass as old monitor had the width coil mounted on the monitor frame and the new one was connected to the chassis. Some wire snips, a hammer, and some zip ties later – I was in business. This game is really challenging (moreso than Pac Man, which it blatantly ripped off).
I’m not very good at the game – YET! I actually plan on really practicing on this one and getting good. I mentioned in an earlier post that I got rid of my Dragon Spirit, but I’m glad that in it’s place, I now have another rare game, but this time one that will actually get played.

Wow, interesting way to change up Pac-Man gameplay…. ditch the maze entirely! Looks like clearing even a single board would be something of a challenge.
Great looking cabinet, it cleaned up very nicely.

Gameplay is TOTALLY challenging! It is very tedious getting all of the dots. Not to mention, when the jellyfish turn blue, it is hard to be exactly on their same plane. It looks like I’m right on them, but they are usually just one dot off and therefore they escape. It takes a long time to clear a stage. So far, I can only get to the third stage. The sucky thing is that I don’t notice much of a difference in the levels, except for difficulty and speed of enemies.
